Yesterday, we attended my second cousin’s wedding in Calaruega. Had I joined my blockmates during the retreat, I’d probably describe the place better. However, yesterday’s heat was unbearable in this high point near Tagaytay. Also, we had to climb up the steep stairs going to the church from the parking area- something that’s really difficult when it’s my first time to wear high heels this year.
Nevertheless, just like any wedding, it’s really a nice wedding. The side of our family which we share with the groom’s don’t really get to be together a lot. In fact, I cannot recall an occasion when I saw my cousin (a.k.a. the groom) other than our reunion in Malabon 2 years ago. Well, it doesn’t matter that much because I felt truly happy for the couple. Wishing them well from this day on.
The reception was held in Nurture Spa in Tagaytay, served by the same caterer in Ogie and Regine’s wedding. An irony of an 80’s themed celebration, and a very modern theme of pink and purple. :)
I was a happy Blackberry user for 3 weeks until I the following happened:
1. I realized that it’s difficult to have a gadget that doesn’t have a service center in the Ph. Seriously, you think it’s possible for the troubleshooting webpage to solve complex problems? Also, I’m sure your service provider could only help you up to some extent. Hindi parin BB experts from Globe/Sun/Smart para matukoy ano talaga problema ng phone mo… Lalo naman ang mga ate at kuya sa Greenhills na ayoko din naman pagkatiwalaan.
2. Another thing is that I’m not able to maximize its unique features such as the BBM and others that I’m not really familiar with since I just use a phone for calling and texting. Okay, maybe Facebook Mobile. However, the news feeds aren’t complete as compared to whenever I’m browsing in my computer/my brother’s ITouch…
3. I couldn’t browse anymore even if I’m connected to a Wifi network. At first I thought it’s just the poor signal, but after trying it in several places, I already refused to believe so. Also during these attempts, my Facebook is running regardless the signal’s strength…
Maybe I’m just not so techie… Before the BB, my most high-end phone is a Samsung Corby. Palaging hand me down ang phones na ginagamit ko, usually hindi pa ‘yung qwerty.
Bottomline is that I switched phones with my mom (still not the qwerty type but at least the camera is 5 megapixels with flash…) and above are some photos to remind me of the most sushaling 3 weeks of my life so far!
These are some photos from my Bangkok trip last March. Well, I only have 13 photos from my trip and most of it are of my bedroom so it doesn’t really matter if I don’t upload everything. I stayed there for 6 days but there was not that much thrill. For 4 days, we were at the office until around 6 in the evening. Which means, no time for pasyal unless I go with my Filipino colleague in his night outs.
I didn’t want my first solo trip abroad a miserable one so even if I didn’t have company most of the days, I made sure to check out some places before hitting the sack. I saw the most beautiful mall, ever! I promised myself to keep on coming back in the next days, but I wasn’t able to do so anymore. You know the feeling when something is too good and you don’t want to linger on the happiness too much because you’ll get sad once it’s all gone? That’s my exact sentiment. Sorry, forever alone ako kaya kahit towards establishments, na-eemo ako! :))
I also went to MBK, a famous mall where they sell everything, including possible pasalubongs. A lot of people told me to do most of my shopping here because everything’s cheap- it’s like their Divisoria. Had I stayed during the weekend, it should be in Chaktuchak Weekend Market. I was super disappointed because it’s exactly like Divi/Greenhills. Same stuff, same prices. Before this MBK trip though, one colleague from our Bangkok office accompanied us to a tiangge in one long road. The stalls are literally on the side streets making shopping uncomfortable because you share the space with people passing along the area. Went home empty handed for the same reason as in MBK. :(
Before the trip, I promised myself not to miss out on street food. Well, I was successful because my colleague brought me to this chaotic strip of seafood ihaw-ihaw… Yun lang, yung tipong kahit dito pwede ko naman maexperience, haha! It was really interesting, though, because they sold strawberries in the street! As in level ng mangga at watermelon! Also whole fishes and chickens. What makes street food so famous in Bangkok is that they sell local dishes out in the open. So patok talaga even for foreigners because sadya nila talaga dun ang Thai food na mura.
Hindi masyadong masaya ang first solo trip ko, siguro dahil takot pa akong i-embrace ang freedom ko sa lugar na yun nang mag-isa. Ni hindi nga ako nakapagpicture ng mga lugar na napuntahan ko diba? Which pinagsisihan ko din nung nakabalik ako dito. :( Kahit nung may kakilala na ko sa airport, ayoko parin magpapicture sa mga higanteng rebulto dun… Anyway, looks like I’ll be coming back for another workshop later this year. Promise, ieembrace ko na ang pagiging turista ko!

I may sound so melodramatic but every time I see a picture of you, I get kind of sad. Maybe it's the fact that I miss you and I'm dying to hear your stories (whether it be serious or random). Hehe. I wish we could catch up on things soon. :)
